About Me:: In 2004 I became the first British woman to lead an Expedition to Mount Everest and only the fifth British woman to stand on the summit of the highest mountain in the world. Only 79 women in history had stood there before me.... I am also the only British women to have both summited Mount Everest and sailed across the Atlantic Ocean.

The Key To Success is not to quit when the going gets tough...

That's how I climbed Everest.

This blog is coming to you today from the heart of the French Alps. I am looking out of my window at the most beautiful view of wall to wall mountains, sprinkled with a fresh covering of snow. As are the trees and everything else in sight. It is truly uplifting and inspiring. However getting here required true grit and determination, which reminded me about the importance of not quitting.
